Obituary of Susan Luntz

Susan Amy Luntz passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 14, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 14, 1942, the daughter of Mollie and Bernard Jassen. Susan graduated from Lafayette High School, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics at Brooklyn College, and a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management at SUNY Fredonia. She began her career as a math teacher, and subsequently changed gears and began training as a computer programmer in the 1960's. Later, while raising two children, she began working at SUNY Fredonia as a computer programmer, and eventually retired as Associate Director of Computing Services. Susan loved to knit, sew, and prepare fabulous home-cooked meals for her lucky family. She was an avid bridge player, an enthusiastic gardener and collector of squirrel figurines, and she had a keen interest in researching family history. She was survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of forty-six years Myron Luntz, her brother Harvey Jassen, her daughter Barbara Weiler, her son Jonathan Luntz, and her two grandsons, Noah and Jared. She was taken too early and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at the B'nai Sholom section of the Elmwood Hill Cemetery 51 Belle Avenue in Troy, NY.
