LILLIAN LIBOWITZ AXELROD
1915-2011
Lillian Libowitz Axelrod, age 95, of Beekman Street in Manhattan died on Sunday morning, Mach 6, 2011 at her residence. Born in Scranton, PA Lillian resided in Albany most of her life and moved to New York City several years ago. She had been employed as a school teacher in the Albany Public School system for many years and was retired. She was a former member of Temple Israel in Albany and the Colonie and Shaker Ridge Country Clubs. Lillian enjoyed traveling, reading, walking, knitting as well as playing golf and bridge. She viewed life as an adventure.
She was married to Frank Axelrod until his passing in 1993. Lillian is survived by her children Shari Barasch and her husband Marian of Albany and Howard Axelrod and his wife Nancy of Boston, MA. Loving grandmother of Maxine and Brendan Barasch
Private funeral service will be held at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY. Interment will be in the Temple Israel Cemtery, Guilderland, NY. The family will be observing a private period of mourning.
