Obituary of Alfred Rose

ALFRED ROSE 1919-2011 Alfred Rose, 92 passed away on Thursday, March 3, in Atlanta. Born in Hannover, Germany on January 17, 1919, he immigrated to NYC in 1938 with his cousin, just prior to the Holocaust in Europe. Saving pennies to help is parents and brother emigrate, he entered the Army, serving as an interrogator for German war captives in Fort Breckenridge, KT and learned his future trade, baking. After developing Bakeries in Queens and Kingston, NY, he owned Capitol Bakery in Albany for many years. He "retired" to his next job with the Malocci's Villa Italia in Schenectady prior to moving south to be with his children. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Millie, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Lehman of Duluth GA, sons Dr. David Rose of Chattanooga, TN, and Dr. Barry Rose of Orlando, FL, and six grandchildren. Throughout his years, he often shared that his friendships and his involvement with the Albany Community were highlights of his life. Services and interment will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Mizpah Congregation Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN
