EILEEN R. SIEGAL
ALBANY, NEW YORK
Eileen R. Siegal, age 63, of 400 Hudson Avenue in Albany, N.Y., died on Tuesday evening, February 22, 2011 in her home. Eileen was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Dora and Irving Rosen. She graduated from Emerson College and completed master's-level coursework at Russell Sage College. Eileen was a teacher, tutor and counselor in the Capital Region, including Capital Region BOCES, for 25 years. Eileen had a passion for the arts. She was a celebrated actress in school, and went on to become a longtime film and television buff, a witty storyteller, and even an amateur songwriter who made sure that the house where her children grew up was always filled with music. She will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity of spirit, her tenacity, her immense creativity, and her understated but incredibly sharp sense of humor. Eileen is the loving mother of Joshua Siegal and his wife Nicole Federici of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mark Siegal and his wife Jennifer of Laurel, M.D. Cherished grandmother of Max, Jake, Zoey and Nathan Siegal, she also leaves one brother, Steven Rosen of Schenectady, N.Y. Eileen was predeceased in 1969 by her loving sister, Gail.
A service will be held at Levine Memorial Chapel 649 Washington Avenue in Albany, N.Y. on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 a.m., followed by a gathering at Workmen's Circle Cemetery, Schermerhorn Street, Rotterdam, N.Y. where Eileen will join her loving family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Eileen in a special way may make a memorial contribution in her memory to the American Heart Association.
