Obituary of Florence Kapner
Florence M. Kapner, age 93, of Albany NY, formerly of Delmar, NY passed away on February 11, 2011. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts she had been a Capital District resident since 1953. She was a graduate of Revere High School in Massachusetts and attended the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. She had been employed as Executive Secretary to the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee for the New York State Assembly. Mrs. Kapner retired as Executive Assistant to the manager of T.V. Station WTEN in 1982. She was a veteran serving during World War II and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and was also the first Women's Army Auxiliary Corps officer from the State of Vermont. Florence loved to paint and decorate, and was active in the couples club at Congregation Beth Emeth. She took delight in playing tennis with her husband, skiing both downhill and cross country and also enjoyed taking long walks.
Florence is survived by her loving and loved husband, Charles Kapner Jr., and her loving and loved daughter, Betsy Faith Kapner. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by a brother Leslie Miller and a sister Irene M. Stein.
A private interment will be held in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY
