Obituary of Bernard Striar

Bernard Striar passed away on February 8, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar, New York. He was 88 years old. Born in Bangor, Maine on February 19, 1922, he was the son of the late Sam and Jennie Striar. He was predeceased by his wife Anna Striar. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Striar of Brooklyn, New York, son Gary of Delmar, New York, daughter-in-law Catherine Durand of Delmar and his grandchildren, Adam and Samuel Striar. He is also survived by his sister Rita Pepper of Selden, New York, and a brother, Robert Striar of Washington, D.C. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Morris and William. A funeral service will be held in Bangor, Maine at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan for the wonderful care and compassion they provided Bernie over the last few years.
