Obituary of Morris Zusman

MORRIS ZUSMAN 1918-2010 ZUSMAN Morris Zusman, age 92 of Davis Avenue in Albany died on Saturday morning, September 25, 2010 at his residence of natural causes. He was the son of the late Chaim and Golda Zusman of Albany. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sylvia, his son Gary Zusman (Edna) of North Tonawanda, NY, his daughters, Judith (Hal) Tanzman of Albany, NY and Devorah (William) Keller of Wayne, New Jersey. He is also survived by his sister, Tillie Hausler of Albany. Grandfather of Michael ( Sheila) Tanzman of Ballston Lake, NY, Jennifer (Patrick) Tanzman- Feldman of Elkridge, Maryland, Brooke Tanzman of Boston, Ma.and Scott Keller of Wayne, New Jersey Great grandfather of Madelyn, Anna and Julia Tanzman and Cody Tanzman -Feldman. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Morris was predeceased by his great granddaughter of 5 days, Violet Olivia Tanzman- Feldman and his brother, Samuel Zusman and sister, Celia Marks. Morris had been an Albany resident all of his life and had been the owner and operator of Morris Men's Shop in Albany from 1951 until his semi retirement. He later worked at the Albany County Hall of Records and retired in 1984. He continued to perform magic shows for adults and children since the 1950's. He was a former member of Congregation Ohav Shalom in Albany and was an active participant in the planning and establishment of the relocated Ohav Shalom built in 1964. Morris was a United States Army Veteran during World War II and was a Sgt. in the 78th (lightning) division and the 309th Infantry Regiment in the European Theater of operation (Battle of the Bulge). Morris was awarded a bronze star medal for his contributions as message center chief in Ruhr pocket.
