Obituary of Rosemary Rothenberg

ROSEMARY " RODY" ROTHENBERG 1916-2010 Albany, New York Rosemary "Rody" Rothenberg, 94 of Albany died peacefully with her family on Thursday September 23, 2010. Born in Watertown, NY on April 16, 1916, she was a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who always brought a smile to those around her. Rody enjoyed traveling, entertaining and playing mahjong, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. In her early career she was the proprietor of Rody's Ceramic Studio in Albany, NY and later became a licensed real estate broker and owner of Triple R Realty in Colonie. She had been a member of Temple Israel in Albany for 64 years. Rody was married to Hyman Rothenberg, the love of her life until his passing in 1970. She is survived by her 5 children, Phyllis ( Earle) Herschenhorn of Loudonville, NY, Robert ( Janet) Rothenberg of Lake Mary, Florida, David Rothenberg of West Palm Beach, Florida, Becky Klahn of Colonie and Deborah ( Louis ) Tulio of Colonie, NY. She also leaves her 12 grandchildren, Michelle, Deanne, Laurie, Shari, Jody, Michael, Karen, Andrew, Steven, Brian, Matthew and Allison as well as 13 Great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Ruth Randall of Watertown, NY. Rody was predeceased by a brother, John Ivan Wicks and sister, Marjorie Farmer. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 10:30am. Interment will follow services in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, NY. Following the service of interment friends and relative are invited to gather at the Tulio residence. The period of mourning will be observed at the Herschenhorn residence on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm and on Wednesday until 4:00pm. Those wishing to remember Rody in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Alzheimer's Disease
