Obituary of Donald Mayer

DONALD MAYER 1930-2010 MAYER Donald Mayer, age 79 of Albany, NY died on Sunday morning August 15, 2010 at St.Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Albany, Mr. Mayer was a life long resident. He was a graduate of the Milne School in Albany and Union College. He had been employed for more than 30 years as a manufacturer's representative for Sealy Mattress Company retiring in 1991. After his retirement he was employed as a court attendant at the Albany County Courthouse and had also been employed by the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance in Albany. He was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany. Don enjoyed playing golf and his family was the center of his existence. He was also a Navy veteran during World War II. Don is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judie Robinson Mayer, 2 daughters, Hillary Jacobson and her husband David of Framingham, Massachusetts and Stacey Crandall and her husband Todd of Delmar, NY. He also leaves his loving grandchildren, Josh and Eric Jacobson and Jordan and Emily Crandall. Services will be held in the Mendleson Chapel located on the grounds of the Beth Emeth Cemetery, Turner Lane Loudonville, NY on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at 1:00pm. Friends are invited to attend. Friends may call at the Mayer residence in Albany on Tuesday evening from 6-9pm.
