Obituary of Charles Freedman

CHARLES E. FREEDMAN Charles E. Freedman of Troy, NY passed away on June 12, 2010 in Montefiore North Hospital, Bronx, NY. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born in NYC and lived the majority of his life in Troy, NY. He received as A.S degree in Math/Science from Junior College of Albany, a B.A. in Psychology from Russell Sage College and had been working on his M.S. in Special Education from Russell Sage College in his later years. He worked as a Senior Computer Operator for NYS Dept. Of Audit and Control for 26 years. He was a very active member of the Jewish Community. He has been a member of Beth Tephilah Synogogue where his parents were also congregants. He received one of the-Israel @ 60 Awards presented at the 2008 ceremony sponsored by the 28th Annual Scholarship Dinner by the The Maimonides Hebrew Day School of the Capital District. Charles leaves behind a brother Stanley, 2 sister in laws; Rochelle and Daryl, as well as nieces and nephews; Jeffrey, David, Gary, Dory, Jenny, and their extended families. He is the son of the late Leonard and Doris Freedman. He is the brother of the late Harold Freedman. He also leaves behind numerous friends from the Jewish Community, the community at large, and his 'extended family' at the Eddy Heritage House, Troy, NY. Services at the Beth Tephilah Cemetery, Belle Avenue , Troy, NY on Tuesday June 15, 2010 at 11:30am. Cemetery is located within the Elmwood Cemetery in Troy. . Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Troy High School Freedman Arts and Literature Scholarship Fund. This fund was established by Charles several years ago in memory of his parents. His brother Harold was added at his passing in 1986. David and Rebecca Freedman will continue the tradition in Charles' memory and honor.
