RABBI GERALD I. WOLPE WOLPE PHILADELPHIA, PA Rabbi Gerald I. Wolpe of Philadelphia, PA died on Monday May 18, 2009 in Philadelphia. Rabbi Wolpe was one of the great figures in American Jewish life, serving for over 10 years as the spiritual leader of the Har Zion Temple in the Philadelphia suburbs. He is survived by his wife Elaine, four children, Rabbi Daniel Wolpe, Rabbi from Temple Israel, Albany, NY, Rabbi David Wolpe, Dr. Stephen Wolpe and Dr. Paul Wolpe as well as their spouses and numerous grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Har Zion Temple, 1500 Hagys Ford Road, Penn Valley, PA 19072 at 1:00 PM. The period of mourning will be observed throughout the week in Philadelphia, PA. Memorial contributions in memory of Rabbi Gerald I. Wolpe may be made to Har Zion Temple.
