HELEN SUTIN 1911 - 2009 Canton, Massachusetts SUTIN Helen Gorn Sutin, age 97 of Orchard Cove Skilled Nursing Center in Canton, Massachusetts died on Friday May 1, 2009 in Canton. Mrs. Sutin was born in Warsaw, Poland and resided many years in Portland, Maine, later moving to Boston. Helen had been a Capital District area resident for most of her life. She has been residing in Canton the last 10 years. She was a humorous verse writer and published her work in New York Times Magazine, Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping. She was a former member of the Shaker Ridge Country Club as well as the Colonie Country Club. She was a life member of the Brandeis University National Women's Committee. She was married to William Sutin until his passing. Loving Mother of Dr. Linda Shapiro of West Newton, Massachusetts and Patricia J. Dowse of Cambridge, Maine. Sister of Lester Gorn of California She also leaves 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services at the Beth Emeth Cemetery, Turner Lane Loudonville, NY on Tuesday May 5, 2009 at 12 noon.
