Obituary of Carol Rosenthal

Carol R. Rosenthal, of Albany, NY, died peacefully Saturday, February 28, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born in Albany to the late Isador and Florence (Singer) Rosenthal. Carol was a graduate of Albany High School, Russell Sage and SUNY Albany. She taught elementary education at the Arbor Hill School for more than 30 years. She had unwavering devotion to hundreds of students throughout her career. Carol was a member of several organizations and was a generous supporter of many local and national causes, including but not limited to, the gift shop at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, the pre-school program of Congregation Beth Abraham Jacob and Temple Israel. Following her retirement in 2001, Carol spent countless hours volunteering at Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy. Carol is survived by her brother Barry M. Rosenthal of Albany, NY, her nephew Michael L. Rosenthal of Hartsdale, NY, and her dear friend Rita Schneider of Delmar, NY. She was predeceased by her aunt Janet S. Singer and her niece Janice Beth Rosenthal. A graveside service will be held at Temple Israel Cemetery on M onday, March 2, 2009, at 1:00 pm. Her family will honor Carol's wishes by not observing a period of mourning. The family requests that any memorial contributions in the name of Carol R. Rosenthal be made to the charity of one's choice.
