Obituary of Roslyn Platt

ALBANY, NY Roslyn Platt, age 84, died peacefully at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Facility on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Roslyn was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Goldie and Jacob Wolkenbreit. At a young age, she moved to Albany, NY with her family. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Roslyn worked at the Capitol Bakery, the family business. She met and married Jack Platt, and together they lived in Albany for many years. After Jack's passing in 1975, Roslyn relocated to Boca Raton, Florida, where she lived and worked for 30 years. Roslyn is survived by her two sons, Richard (Joan) of Feura Bush, New York and Ronald (MaryAnn) of Lighthouse Point, Florida, and her sister Belle Vener of Englewood, New Jersey. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alex, Cara, Jackie, and Jennifer and her great-grandchildren Andrew, Louis and Brian. Roslyn also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Charlotte Jaffe and her brother Samuel Wolkenbreit. A graveside service will take place at the Temple Israel Cemetery Western Avenue in Guilderland, NY on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 3pm. The period of mourning will be observed on Sunday and Monday evenings at the home of Richard Platt. The family would like to thank the loving staff at the Daughters of Sarah, especially Rose, Jason, and Gina, for the kind care and personal attention given to Roslyn and to her family.
