Obituary of Rosalie H. Sovitsky
Rosalie Basen Sovitsky ,age 72 of Albany, New York died on Monday morning , March 7, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in Troy, Rosalie was the daughter of the late William and Betty Kaplan Basen and the daughter in law of the late Fay and Sam Sovitsky. She was a lifelong Capital District resident and a graduate of Troy High School. She also attended Albany Business College. Rosalie had been employed for several years by the NY Dept of Audit and Control retiring in 1999. She was a member of Congregation Ohav Shalom and the Independent Benevolent Society in Albany.
Rosalie was a caring, loving., and amazing wife and the Mother. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Melvin Sovitsky , the love of her life and her daughter, Marci Sovitsky who was her pride and joy. She is the niece of Irv and Rita Kaplan of Florida and Roz Kaplan of Colonie, She also leaves many cousins. Her strength is an inspiration to all.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery in Albany. Following the day of her service the family has requested to grieve privately, and ask that family and friends remember Rosalie in their thoughts and memories. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York 10016.
