Myra Melnik Brandman, aged 97, longtime resident of Albany, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. She was the loving mother of Frieda (Abraham) Anolik of Albany and Ellie Sherrin of East Greenbush; grandmother of Jill Katzman of East Greenbush, Nicki (Matt) Sherrin Kessler of Cranford, N.J., Seth (Rachel) Katzman of Arlington, Mass., and David (Lea) Sherrin of Brooklyn; and great-grandmother of Alex, Sydney, and Peri Kessler; Ariel Dias-Sherrin; and Sophie Katzman. Myra was a homemaker whose chicken soup was legendary. She enjoyed socializing with friends, playing cards, cooking (especially for the holidays), traveling throughout the world, dancing, listening to Klezmer music, and, most importantly, spending time with her family whom she adored.
