Obituary of Marcia Saperstein


Marcia Saperstein, age 80 of Albany, NY died on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at her residence. Marcia was born in Brooklyn, NY and had been a Capital District resident since 1962.  She was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany. Marcia had been a lunch aid for many years at the former School # 26 in Albany and was known to many as the “cookie lady” as she was instrumental in organizing many bake sales at the school.  Marcia was and honorary life member of the Capital District PTA.

Marcia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Murray Saperstein, and children, Elisa Pacelli (Tom) of Latham, NY, Jeffrey Saperstein (Martha) of Yardley, Pa and Suzanne Kranick (Steve) of Goodyear, Arizona. Grandmother of Robert, Shane, and Samuel Pacelli, fiancé, Samantha and Jonathan and Emma Saperstein.  Marcia was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Hochfeld.

Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00am. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Levine Memorial Chapel commencing at 10:00am. Interment will follow services in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville, NY. Those wishing to remember Marcia in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208 or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
